While viewing your Pokemon’s summary of stats, the base stat in red is the boosted stat while stat in blue is the decreased stat. Since Natures are randomly applied, some people capture a large number of the same Pokemon to get the “right” Nature.

What do the different colors of Pokémon mean?
A target ring will appear around the Pokémon. The ring’s color indicates the difficulty level of capturing the Pokémon. A green ring indicates the capture is low difficulty, orange indicates intermediate difficulty, and red indicates extreme difficulty.
What color are stars?
Stars are different colors — white, blue, yellow, orange, and red. The color indicates the star’s temperature in its photosphere, the layer where the star emits most of its visible light.
