The battle-ready symbol (Japanese: バトルレギュレーションマーク battle regulation mark) is a symbol that can appear on a Pokémon’s summary screen in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It indicates that a Pokémon which does not have a Galar symbol has had its moves wiped in order to allow it to participate in official competitions.

How can you tell if a Pokémon is battle-ready?

Only Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield or those with the battle-ready symbol are eligible. Pokémon from previous games in the Pokémon series can receive the battle-ready symbol from the character next to the door in the center of the Battle Tower.

Majority of the Pokemon reintroduced in the Crown Tundra Pokedex have been made legal for Ranked Battle.

The Galar symbol is an origin mark that Pokémon obtained in the Generation VIII games have. Pokémon that were hatched, caught, or received as a gift in a Generation VIII game or in Pokémon HOME have the Galar symbol.

Is shiny Zacian illegal?
