How do you beat Mossdeep gym in Emerald?
I would recommend using Swampert against the duo, as Surf is 2x effective against Rock/Psychic and hits both of them at once. Swellow is also a good choice since Steel is 2x effective against Rock/Psychic and Flying is immune to Ground-type moves (so you won’t be damaged by Earthquake).

If you are playing Emerald, you should go to the Space Center and defeat Team Magma, then talk to Steven afterward to get HM08 Dive. Now that you can use Dive outside of battle, you might want to explore the underwater parts of Route 124 to find all of the items hidden there.

After you defeat Brawly, you get the Knuckle Badge, which lets you use Flash outside of battle. He also gives you TM08 Bulk Up, which increases Attack and Defense. Your next destination is Granite Cave, which is northwest of Dewford Town.

You have to go to Steven’s house to get it, he doesn’t give it to you. Fly/Soar to Mossdeep City, go north, then west. You’ll find a house at the edge.
