Does perfect IV matter in Pokemon go?
IVs only matter when: You’re investing stardust to power up. If you’re not going to invest stardust in them anyway, just evolve the highest CP. You’re trying to maximize breakpoints for a specific matchup.
Should you evolve a perfect Pokémon?
If you have a Pokemon that is in the highest or second highest IV tier, it really is not that far away from perfect Max CP. So evolving a Pokemon with IV’s in the first or second tier is a good idea, you don’t need to wait for the perfect IV’s. Never power up a Pokémon before evolving it!

Should I purify a perfect IV Pokémon?
You’re not going to use them in battle and if you do purify it, it won’t matter whether its CP is 20 or 600 as it’ll end up the same, regardless. However, the IVs are important to look at. Shadow Pokemon are clearly an excellent opportunity to get high IV options, and if you’re really lucky the coveted perfect IVs.
Should I evolve high CP or IV?
It depends. IV corresponds to max CP. So if you evolve the eevee with higher CP then it will also have higher CP post evolution, but it’s maximum CP will be lower. If you plan on pumping lots of stardust/candies into this pokemon then you should choose the higher IV with the higher max.
Is 3 star Pokémon better?
The team leader will tell you how your Pokémon ranks using stars and a pretty easy to understand graphic using bars. If your Pokémon has three stars and a red stamp, it means that it has 100% perfect IVs. If it has three star with an orange stamp, it has around 80-99% perfect IVs.
Should I max out CP before evolving?
Since CP increases from power ups are also proportional across evolutions, you’ll get the same results for the same amount of stardust and candies whether you power up the Pokemon before or after evolving it. It should make no difference at all.
Can a Pokémon’s IV change?
First off, IVs (or Individual Values) are stats that the Pokémon are “born” with. They cannot be changed, with the exception of Hyper Training.
Is CP or IV more important?
As explained by RustyMembers the IV is by far more important than the CP of a Pokemon. But actually equally or sometimes even more important is the Moveset of a Pokemon. A Pokemon with the best moveset dps wise but with lower IV will perform better than a similar one with a different moveset but higher IV %.
