Why did Japan get Pokemon Green?
Pokémon Red and Green’s name change to Pokémon Red and Blue outside of Japan owes itself to Game Freak’s emulating the colors of the U.S. flag. The first generation Pokémon video games are known as Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, but the rest of the world got Pokémon Red and Blue.
