Why is Pokemon Gen 5 the best?
The music of Generation Five is arguably the best of any generation. While the Reshiram and Zekrom battle theme is literally the biggest bop that has ever been delivered by anyone and is better than the entire music industry as a whole, much of the soundtrack is very calm and peaceful.

So in conclusion, no, Gen 5 is not underrated. I think it is slightly overrated in fact. Its still one of the better Pokemon games in my opinion, but the praise I’ve seen for the games goes a bit too far at times. I’m happy to see Gen 5 in a positive spotlight, but its still far from perfect.

When looking at Pokémon as just another series of RPGs, Generation V is the best of the bunch. Great storytelling, good party variety, and by far the best difficulty curve in the series. On their own, Black/White and Black 2/White 2 offer a healthy challenge, but Generation V actually features easy and hard modes.

B2W2 fix the issue and even as someone who isn’t as keen on gen 5, B2W2 is one of my top 3 favourite Pokemon games. But with that clarification made, the reason gen 5 gets more hate is because of the thing that was meant to make it unique, the fact that only gen 5 Pokemon can be caught.
